It's mock draft season but ESPN is confusing me with where elite QBs are going. I've done a couple and I don't know if it's the default rankings but Rodgers has been available at my pick in the 3rd round a majority of times and sometimes even by the time my 4th round pick comes around. Brees has been able to last until the 5th. Am I dumb for thinking that's good value? Am I missing something here?
QBs are a weird part of fantasy football. It's hard to win when you have shit at QB, but most leagues I've been in seem to under value them. I'd take Brees in the 5th all day. Of course the league I'm in is 2 QB league where QBs are highly valued.
I am one of them people that devalue QBs. I just don't see a need to waste a high pick on a QB when you can get a pretty good one late. I did 2 drafts so far and got Kirk Cousins as my starter in one league in round 11 and Philip Rivers as my starter in the other in round 13.
Both QBs ranked top 5 in yards last year. Cousins was a top 5 QB (mostly, depending on the league) in fantasy football last year. Rivers wasn't but but he's consistently up there in yards and TDs. The reason he wasn't ranked that high last year in fantasy was he threw a career high 21 INTs. I'm expecting that to drop.
