This is our 6th year together. 10 teams--- all old school settings. NO PPR. NO fancy points settings. 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1TE/RB/WR flex. I picked 9/10. I hate this spot.
QB: Bortles (10), Carr (11) I had hoped to snag Newton (4) or Palmer (8)-- but that didn't happen--- they went earlier than I projected. Soooo--- I was left with the bottom-feeders at the bottom of the draft. I actually targeted Stafford (as my 3rd) in the 12th round, but he was grabbed up 2 spots before me. Damn.
RB: Elliot (1), Lacy (2), Foster (7), D Williams (9), Abdullah (11), Crowell (13) I had hoped to get a Top10 WR1 at #2, but the next WR pick on the board went all the way down to Jordy Nelson--- and as a Packers fan, I'm not so sure he rates this high, soooooo instead I took Lacy.
WR: D Thomas (3), Moncrief (4), M Floyd (5), K Benjamin (6), Aiken (14). I was really excited about getting two RB1s at 1/2 in an old school standard league, but then I was scrambling to fill my WR roster with the next 4 picks. Ironically, TY Hilton was still on the board, but I picked Moncrief ahead of him-- because I think he will end up as the #1 by mid-season. I picked up Floyd, thinking I could squeeze in Palmer (for the combo), but Palmer was taken 2 picks ahead of me in round 8. Damn.
TE: D Walker (8). He was the best available player at this point in the draft. I had hoped to snag Palmer here--- but he was gone, as were all the valuable QBs by this point--- so I figured I would have to wait for the QB left overs later.
DST: Packers (15)-- the last pick in my draft.
NO KICKER: I'll probably drop Crowell before week 1.
In the book of life, the answers aren't in the back.
